Synopsis

The Big Clock Up is a brand-new story set in the fictional village of Tockingham, where the church clock at St. Tick’s has suddenly stopped. Faced with an unexpected repair bill of £742, the church committee come up with one ambitious solution… stage a fundraising musical! What follows is a heartwarming and hilarious journey through committee meetings, auditions, rehearsals and the inevitable chaos that comes with bringing a community production to life. Inspired by the warmth and wit of shows such as The Vicar of Dibley, the observational comedy of Victoria Wood and the larger-than-life characters of Absolutely Fabulous, The Big Clock Up celebrates the people who quietly keep our communities running. As an original production, this is a unique opportunity to be part of creating something completely new. While some key moments are already written, the show will continue to develop throughout rehearsals, and every member of the company will play a part in bringing the world of Tockingham to life.
