Flashdance The Musical tells the inspiring and unforgettable story of 18 year-old Alex, a welder by day and “flashdancer” by night, who dreams of going to the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy and becoming a professional dancer. When a romance complicates her ambitions, she harnesses it to drive her dream.

Based on the Paramount Pictures film (Screenplay by Tom Hedley and Joe Eszterhas, story by Tom Hedley), this is an inspiring musical about the power of holding onto your dreams and love against all the odds. The iconic score features the best-selling hits “Maniac”, “Manhunt”, “Gloria”, “I Love Rock & Roll” and the sensational title track “Flashdance…What a Feeling”.

This sold out performance, organised by The Zodiac and starring some of its members, was performed at Parish Hall, Church Street, Frodsham, by The Zodiac's good friends, The Kinglsey Players. The audience were encouraged to watch the show in World War II fancy dress.

LEGALLY BLONDE

Despite not being taken seriously as during the ‘trial of the century’, she learns that she can be both brainy and fashionable.

Opening at The Brindley in Runcorn, The Zodiac performed their 5 night run to rave reviews. The cast rehearsed for 6 months, with auditions taking place the previous November, to bring the audience a high-energy, top-quality show.

A MONTAGE OF MUSICALS

6th - 7th October 2017

A Montage of Musicals is a history of the musical from the 1930's to the present day; a performance filled with some of the most popular songs from the most well known musicals ever performed, from such musical giants as Rogers and Hammerstein and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

 

The Zodiac, including the ever talented local children, performed songs from the juke-box musical, Mama Mia, the mega hit musical, Les Miserables, and songs from other favourites, such as Annie, Oliver and Matilda.  

 

With so many other show stopping tunes, and top notch performances, The Zodiac won the North West NODA Award for 1Best Concert1 at the awards ceremony at Crew Hall in January 2018. Jennifer Deakin accepted the award on behalf of the well-deserving cast.

Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss, Mr Hart. 

​

In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?

​

Auditions for this show took place in October 2016. The show opened in March 2017 and ran for 5 nights to fantastic reviews from the audience. It was the first time directing for Kriss Hubbard, and the first lead role in The Zodiac for Laura Johnson, who was nominated for Best Actress at the North West NODA Awards.
